This event is held on Gunbower Creek, 40km northwest of Echuca. This stunning waterway is an anabranch of the Murray River and flows between the townships of Gunbower and Cohuna.
Organised by Shannon O’Brien, Sydney Harbour Kayaks the “Black Swan Creek Marathon” is the first of its kind in this country and offers Australian paddlers a style of racing that is huge in the USA.
The marathon is 46 kilometres starting at Gunbower and finishing at Cohuna. Entrants may use canoes, kayaks, out-riggers, stand-up paddle boards, any type of paddle craft they choose. They may enter as a single, double or a relay-team.
